When I installed it on my new Windows 10 machine it had some annoying glitches. Apparently there is some kind of planned obsolescence where previous versions no longer work quite right. I was horrified to see that Adobe is switching to a "subscription" model of profiteering. That is why I never have bought an Apple product.

Fortunately, I have a University position and was able to qualify for this Student and Teacher edition where I can actually own the product instead of paying an outrageous recurring fee.

But the installation instructions included are just wrong. It immediately rejected the Product Code as invalid.

I do care that they might arbitrarily shut down access to the program that I have paid for. As for the glitches in Acrobat 9? Most of them have continued in this version.

As others have noted, if you uninstall a previous version, the new version will still conflict with it. If you try to print from Chrome the result will look OK at first, but there are glitches if you look closely. I will also note that Adobe has completely changed the layout of where settings and tools are found. None of these changes are an improvement. It just means that you have to relearn everything and it also means you have to re-enter all of your old settings.

Adobe has made PDF a standard that the world now uses. But they have leveraged that to extort people who need to create PDF files. I am happy to pay a fair price for a product that works well. But Adobe has gotten fat and lazy with its monopoly. The prices are absurd and the quality is less than ideal. If you have any alternative to buying Adobe products, please do so. They should not be rewarded for bad behavior.
