After reading so much fantasy recently, I was in desperate need of returning to my favourite genre, the contemporary romance, and Morgan provided the perfect book for me! I'll begin by saying what an innovative novel I thought this was.

We have seen the time-travelling trope done a million times before now, but Morgan explores it in a whole new light which made for a really interesting read.

My only criticism of this was there were a few loopholes or a couple of instances where I wasn't sure how plausible certain elements were, for example, why some characters remember their past while the rest of the world lives in ignorance. This time travel worked to portray some really difficult topics regarding fertility, teen birth and psychological abuse. I think this was a great way of showing such themes because Morgan highlighted the alternative outcomes in each timeline with each still having that emotional rawness that tugged on my heartstrings and showed how difficult these events are despite your circumstances.

Lizzie, the novel's protagonist, was such a relatable and funny character! She definitely gave me some Bridget Jones vibes that had me cringing and laughing with her at the same time. I couldn't help but feel this sadness for Lizzie, which was aided by Morgan's flashbacks, because we see the sacrifices she has made to help Charles pursue his dreams.

Lizzie is a very selfless character and it made her all the more likeable in this narrative. Likewise, Charles was another character that I felt very connected to. Morgan breaks down the stereotypes that often surround his job as an actor to create a character who is romantic, caring and ultimately seems like the ideal boyfriend, which makes his new relationship with Lizzie sadder. The chemistry between the couple was amazing and I found myself shouting at the pages for them to get to together!

Morgan is wonderful at building strong character relationships that felt authentic to the story. I would love to discuss more with you on this book but I'm wary of giving too many spoilers away so let me know in the comments if you've read this book yet and we'll chat!

Books are Rad. Unfortunately it felt a bit flat for me which sucks because I think the plot had so much potential. First of all the whole reason for her letting him go did not make sense to me. Also it seemed to me that if she truly loved him then she would see how much he also loved her. I can sympathize that her fathers verbal abuse affected her judgement but I felt that lack of communication in their marriage was not enough of a reason to completely alter her reality.

Oh and her a brother is a bit too violent towards a person he considered a brother. Especially when he never properly confronted him to get the whole truth. The fact that all she had to do was text him a break up text to get him to stay away did not make sense to me either.

I thought she was the love of his life and that he was planning on marrying her no matter whatпїЅ so why would a text be enough to stop him from fighting for her?
